Email marketing can have a huge impact on your business and is one of the most cost effective digital marketing strategies to generate sales. When used correctly, email marketing provides an excellent return on investment, but it is important that you differentiate between good, precision email marketing and simply spamming your potential customers.
Email Personalization and Segmentation
Personalizing your message will improve the reading experience for your customer. Using the customer’s first name within the email will make them more inclined to read the content that you are delivering. Personalized emails also must be relevant to the specific customer’s needs. If the content within the email does not directly impact the subscriber, they are likely to delete it before opening it. Segmenting your email list will also improve the open rate and the click through rate of your emails. Many of your subscribers will have different wants and needs from your services so it is important to send them the content that is specifically relevant to what they are looking to receive from you. Segment your subscribers into different lists that cater to specific audiences with each email that you send.
Click Worthy Content
Consumers subscribe to email marketing campaigns to receive valuable and captivating content. It is important to begin with an attention grabbing subject line that will compel subscribers to open your email. Entice recipients with a creative or attention grabbing subject line and preheader that will inspire curiosity for the reader. Avoid using spam-like verbiage such as “free”, “guaranteed”, “money back”, all capital letters, and multiple exclamation or question marks which will set off filters preventing your email from being delivered to the subscriber’s inbox.
Drip campaigns are highly personalized emails that are sent to subscribers depending on their status and demographics. Using drip campaigns is a more targeted and relevant way to capture a specific customer’s needs and will lead to less unsubscribes and a higher conversion rate. You can set triggers within the drip campaign which send out additional emails based on what the subscriber clicks (or doesn’t click) within your email. Drip campaigns also save time for marketers as they are prewritten and can be scheduled to send out in intervals geared to the needs of the subscriber.
